Welcome Pastor Dan
We are excited to welcome Dan McDowell as our new pastor starting on March 1, 2017. Pastor Dan has served as a youth minister, church planter, and pastor in Nebraska, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and New York. He holds degrees from University of Sioux Falls (BA in Religious Studies and Speech Communication) and Palmer Seminary (Master’s Degree in Preaching).
Demonstrating a heart for community outreach, Pastor Dan has helped launch a men’s homeless shelter, start a bus ministry, and organize holiday dinners for the community. We are looking forward to his leadership as GraceCrossing continues to minister to the Phoenixville community.
Pastor Dan and his wife Terri have three adult daughters and one grandson. In his spare time, he enjoys sports and officiates at local football, basketball, and baseball games.
Come help us welcome Pastor Dan to Phoenixville on March 5 at our 10:00 a.m. worship service.
Join Us for Lenten Services
Pastor Dan is preaching about “True Spirituality” during Lent, based on Romans 12. Come join us on Sundays at 10:00 AM, March 5 through April 16. A special time of dialog and insight on the weekly sermon follows each worship service during Lent. These are the sermons in the series:
March 5 – God’s Dream for Your Life (Romans 12)
Romans 12 is not a “try harder” moral code to live up to, but a faith response to what God has already done.
March 12 – How To Give God What He Wants Most (Romans 12:1)
What does total commitment look like in our relationship with God? How does it work?
March 19 – How To Get God’s Best for Your Life (Romans 12:2)
We are to be separate from the world’s values that seek to seduce us from loving Jesus through pleasure, possessions, and positions. Explore practical methods for the “renewing of our minds.”
March 26 – How To Come to Grips With the Real You (Romans 12:3-8)
Recognizing that fear is rooted in shame, hiding is rooted in insecurity, and blaming is rooted in denial, God tells us to think accurately about ourselves because he has a role for us to fulfill.
April 2 – How To Experience Authentic Community (Romans 12:9-13)
The greatest seed in the greatest soil can’t grow in the wrong environment. Our spiritual ecosystem requires authentic community through small groups.
April 9 (Palm Sunday) – How To Overcome the Evil Aimed at You (Romans 12:14-21)
The commands of Romans 12 are our faith response to Romans 1-11 (God’s grace and mercy toward us). They focus on relationships, not rules or religious activity, with the highest aim being love.
April 16 (Easter) – Do You Get It? (Luke 18:31-34
The disciples didn’t grasp God’s grand plan. Do you?

Word of the Month
“Giving” is more than money — it’s gifting with intent. It can be physical or emotional, but it’s all from the heart. To give is to grant or bestow upon another. A gift is something put into the possession of someone else for them to use; to commit to, to trust in. Giving is a huge responsibility. It can be administered as a Sacrament, or of Healing. I Chronicles 16:28-29 tells us: “Give to the Lord, O families of nations. Give to the Lord glory and strength. Give to the the Lord the glory due His name. Bring an offering and come before Him; worship the Lord in the the splendor of His holiness.” Our heart-felt giving to our Lord and to each other surely bestows glory!
