Wow! 200 Safe Quilts
We made 200 safe quilts for Bethany Children’s Services to give to children waiting for their forever families. Our GraceCrossing children helped Pastor Steve dedicate the quilts before they were sent to help many children feel warm and loved.
Friday Night Dinner With Friends
On December 9 we are meeting for dinner at the Springford Diner in Spring City at 5:30 PM. Everyone is invited. Make your reservation with Esther Ashbaugh before Thursday noon.
Mark your calendar for a time of fellowship, fun, and food on December 18 after the worship service.
Reverse Advent Calendar
Church families are encouraged to gather gifts for the church’s food pantry during Advent. Start by getting a basket or box to collect your family’s gifts. Then add one food item each day during Advent (December 1 through 24). It’s okay to donate less than 24 items if you prefer. Donations should be nonperishable food items in non-glass containers. Suggestions are cereal, tuna, pasta, canned fruits and vegetables, peanut butter, and soup. On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day we will collect your gifts at the church for distribution by our food pantry. The goal is to make someone else’s life a little brighter.
Sermons during December will focus on “Advent Conspiracy.” This global movement encourages people and churches to resist Christmas consumption by choosing a revolutionary Christmas through worshpping fully, spending less, giving more, and loving all. Join us on Sundays at 10:00 AM.
The Joyful Servants Food Pantry will be open on December 14 and 28, 10:00 to 11:00. The food pantry is located in the church annex. Click here for more details.
Word of the Month
Joy describes a feeling of great pleasure and happiness. Joy is delight! Joy is a state of grand jubilation, of triumph and exultation. Joy is soul-rocking exuberance an elation! We celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus with gladness! Joy is always present in our hearts, if we but take the time to notice. No matter what. Psalm 126:5 “They that sow in tears shall reap in joy!”
